In recent years, more people have been making their own board games and using them to bring people together at board game cafes or among friends, or exhibiting them at Game Market (Game Market Japan).

Designing a board game and creating its artwork and illustrations, either on your own or with a group of friends, is a very rewarding creative activity.

But as you develop a game, you may have all kinds of concerns: Is it fun for a general audience? Are there situations where the system breaks down? Are there already games with similar mechanics?

Join a playtesting session

A playtesting session is a great way to improve the quality of a board game you have made.

Playtesting sessions are held throughout Japan, and EJP Games runs them regularly three days a week.

You can also reserve a spot at EJP Games sessions using our dedicated smartphone app (for iPhone and Android).

The app has a stamp feature that fills up as you attend playtesting sessions. Once you collect enough stamps, you can get discounts on session fees and gifts of board games.
