Honjo's Seven Games: Oitekebori

Honjo's Seven Games Oitekebori

How to Play

Draw cubes from the box and run!

Draw cubes from the box (the DVD case) to move forward. You can keep moving as long as you draw white, but red or yellow stops you in your tracks. If you draw red or yellow, you have to leave behind the fish you are carrying.

Bring home lots of fish!

This is a roll-and-move race from start to finish, but the goal is not to reach the finish first. Pick up fish along the way without leaving them behind; the player with the most fish when the game ends wins.

The Story of Oitekebori

Long ago, there was a moat where people caught an extraordinary number of fish.
Yet hardly anyone tried to fish there. The reason was a rumor: at night, when someone tried to take home fish caught in the moat, an eerie, otherworldly voice called from the water, “Leave them here! Leave them here!”

“Leave them here! Leave them here!”
The voice kept echoing until the fish were left behind. What would happen if you ignored it and kept going? It is frightening even to imagine.
That moat came to be called Oitekebori, “the moat where they tell you to leave it behind.”
